I know of two 44y having their 1st

I think personal experiences very much influence beliefs. I personally know of two 44 year olds (actually one may have been 43), who after first miscarriages, conceived again and carried to term. It was the first child for both.

I don't have such a dim view of the pregnancy potential for this age group. Maybe because I'll be there soon, and want to keep the hope alive. Also, I never paid attention to it back then, but I'm from the Caribbean and knew of so many older mothers.

Hi there. I too am 47. I had 3 miscarriages around age 45. This one is the first one to take. It happened naturally and quite unexpectedly. I am due the end of September.

As far as I can figure my current pregnancy was my 44th Birthday Present from my husband!! So I am going to enjoy it for as long as it lasts (I have issues in the sticky department)

The oldest woman to conceive whose husband we had treated with vasectomy reversal was 47, and the oldest women to deliver a baby was 44 at the time when the reversal was performed.

It isn't a question, it's just to say that nature isn't always against the older mother. My daughter is 44 on Saturday, she has a daughter of 23, a son of 19 and another daughter who's 14 on Sunday.

And she has just given birth, three weeks ago, to a lovely baby son. He was a shock, but a very pleasant shock.
