Possible to ovulate when peri-menopausal

It is indeed possible to ovulate when you are peri-menopausal; you aren't menopausal because you still have some eggs left. The periods you do have come after the ovulation, most likely.

It is probably even possible to have a healthy pregnancy (with your own egg) and if you don't want to risk that, you do need information.

It is possible. My aunt had a baby at 44.

You are not technically too old, as I know some one at 49 who had a baby, it all depends on egg production I imagine.

My husbands aunt was 49, with two kids of 17 and 20 and hadn't had a period for 9 months when she found out, by pure chance, she was pregnant.

After weighing up every option, she went ahead and had her daughter and has actually now got a letter saying she was the oldest woman to ever give birth at that hospital, which recently closed down.

She's now a fit and well 74 year old, and her daughter is 25.

There were times when she was exhausted, but she wouldn't have changed things for the world.

I mean, is it just a sudden urge due to the onset of the menopause, or has she felt like this for a few years. Just it does seem rather late in life to be thinking about having another child. Having said that though, my mother was 40 when she had me, and 44 when she had my sister.
