My 53y aunt is expecting an 'oops' baby

For what it's worth, my 53 year old aunt just announced to the family that she and her 42 year old boyfriend are expecting an 'oops' baby in July 2007.

I went for perinatologist visit, and his oldest patient was 55 last year... Now he didn’t tell me she used DE [donor egg] and I didn’t dare ask. But, either way, she had her life long dream of becoming a mommy...

Maternal drive never dies for most of us, whether we can't conceive due to high FSH or menopause.

I was visiting an old site I used to frequent, when I read a post by a mother of 11, who was approaching 50. Missed her period for a few months, thought it was menopause, and found out she was 5 months pregnant. That's what I want to happen to me!

Wow, I am just soooo happy to find this board!! I am 46, pregnant with #1, Estimated Date of Delivery is 8/23/07. It's my own eggs - helped along with Clomid, and I had an IUI [intra-uterine insemination] with donor sperm.

My first ultrasound is tomorrow 1/3, and I'm excited and nervous........ I just want to know that this is a healthy & viable pregnancy. I am planning on having genetic testing done, just wondering if anyone had the CVS [Chorionic villus sampling] procedure?? If so, what can you tell me about it?

There is a woman on another board who is 44 years old, and just got her first BFP [big fat positive - pregnancy test] after having done two IVFs [in vitro fertilization] , and she worked with SIRM in Las Vegas (Dr. Sher).

I believe she did not do low stims, but she did take a steroid, which I believe was key in her case. Just a hunch I have... that I don't have the time to go into right now.
