She born when her mother was 47

Here's a bit of a story: While attending a conference in Vancouver a few years ago I met a woman who had been born when her mother was 47. The woman I met was in her 50's, so this was long before Donor Egg!

Getting pregnant when doctors say it's not possible seems to happen more than we realize. This ultrasound tech that used to work at RE's had to have IVF to get pregnant. So like your friend, she and her husband never used birth control pills. She got a surprise pregnancy at 45, all on her own, with a healthy baby girl.

I found out I was expecting the week before my 45th birthday... So I will be 45.8 when this baby is due. My midwife says all looks good so we're hoping for another homebirth. This is our 11th child. Our #10 was born when I was 42.

All of our other children are about two years apart, so we thought we must be done. All the children are excited... 5 boys and 5 girls ages 23-2.7. Thanks for this encouraging site!

I honestly think there is much ado about nothing. My grandmother had my mum when she was 50. She did not even realize she was pregnant until about 3 months, as she thought she had hit menopause when she did not see her period.

Many much younger women have a lot more complications than older mums. I say as long as you are healthy, eating right, exercising, taking care of yourself then leave the rest in the hands of God. Doctors need to stop acting as if they are gods!

Hello all my name is Hannah. I'm 52 years old and currently expecting my fourth child. I have a 26 year old with a one year old (so I'm a Grandma), and a 19 year old, and a 10 year old.

I am in my 28th week, and I should be due around the 10th of February. I was very surprised to find out about my pregnancy. When I had my third, I didn't think I would become pregnant again! When this baby is born, I will be 53.
