I'm 44, about 6 weeks pregnant
I'm 44, about 6 weeks pregnant. I also have a daughter 23 years, son 22 years, from my former marriage. I also have a daughter 6 years, my little angel in heaven, and a son 4 years old. I'm waiting for my 1st prenatal visit on APRIL 5TH. I'm going to ask for an ultrasound as soon as possible!
I know I'll be high risk, as I was with my son. As far as the special test go, I refused the amino. I think it's too risky! I also would like to wish everyone good luck! My due date is 11-11-06.

I'm about 10 weeks pregnant and turning 46 tomorrow. This is my 3rd pregnancy -- after 22 years. I have a daughter age 24 and a son age 22. 1st marriage lasted 15 years; then was unmarried since April 1996. Just got married 2nd time Dec. 12th, '05.
My husband has no kids, so he is quite excited about this pregnancy. I have some anxiety; my kids are worried. I'm thinking about having some tests done.
Thank God for this website. It is a great help for me, and these message-boards are really cool. These messages from everyone help me to see I'm not alone, and I feel a bit more at ease about this! Now, to remember how to breastfeed!

Hi, I'm 44 and starting on my sixth week. I have an 11 year old, a 15 year old and a 16 year old. I am not too nervous about it, I am trusting everything will be OK, but I really wish time would fly and I was at least over the first 12 weeks. I am unsure about doing testing on the baby.

I just turned 12 weeks today. I am 46, going to be 47 when the baby is born, and already have 8 children, youngest of whom will be six. I sure thought I was done with all this!
I was shocked and not too happy for the first month, a little less shocked and a little more happy the second month. After the shock wears off, I think you will become more excited about the new life within you.
I too am very nervous about carrying a baby at this age, and also the repeat cesarean (this will be my 8th cesarean, and the last one was a little tougher to get over because of all the scar tissue and trouble getting Steven out). So I am very nervous about this one.
But I figure that God put me in this boat for a reason, and He will take care of me. Having faith is the only way to get through this life-altering experience, believe me!

I had my daughter November 29, 05 and all went well. I was 44 when I had her. The only difference for me was that I had so much scar tissue from my first c-section six years before, that my OB had a harder time getting to her, and thus I had a little harder time recovering.
I had terrible post-partum depression with my son six years ago, and went through it again with this one.... But was more prepared, and went on medication sooner. My six year old was a great help to me, as I am sure your older children will be for you! Chloƫ is now 14 weeks old and is a joy to have around.

You Can Get Pregnant in Your 40's
I'm 44. about 6 weeks pregnant as well. I have three daughter 25, 23, 18 and two granddaugthers 17 mo and newborn. I had Novasure procedure (uterine ablation) back in Oct, was told I could have more children so needless to say this is a total shock and somewhat terrifying. I've been looking for any groups, so I'm glad to have found this one.
