I knew a woman who had TWINS at 50 with her own eggs... but did have help (fertility drugs). Both children were perfect

I am not sure that statistics are even gathered for women over 50. I wish your friend the best of luck with her pregnancy. I do know of one woman on the pregnancy board who had her last baby at 49.

There are many women who have successful pregnancies over 50. My acu doctor has had 2 clients, one was 52 (her first and only, and natural), and the other was 58 years old!!!

A friend of mine just called me and she ( just turned 51) got a positive pregnancy test. She is excited that all was working right, and doubts that things will continue due to egg age, blah blah blah... but there is that glimmer of hope, as she would welcome another child (she has two children from donor egg in her 40's).

She was wondering what "IS" the chance of miscarriage at 50? I remember from my last pregnancy, that ended in miscarriage at 44, they told me it was over 60%... Is it dramatically increased at 50, or just elevated to say 15 or 20% chance or something like that?

I am not surprised AT ALL by her getting pregnant actually. She is a health nut, always has been. Eats organic and lots of raw foods, stays away from hydrogen oils, lives on a farm, raises chickens (organic eggs), uses natural products etc.

I had 2 babies in my 40's. One at 43 and one at 46. Both natural pregnancies, both I had amnio's done. Both normal, healthy, happy, beautiful baby boys. People think I am about 35, and I feel great. If you are healthy, what’s the difference how old you are?
