My great grandma had #11 at 44 or 45
My RE said genetics do play an albeit small part. My great grandma had 14 pgs, 11 live births, 3 miscarriages (that she knew of) and had kid #11 at 44 or 45...
My cousin (her granddaughter and my mom's 1st cousin) had a baby at 43 (and conceived at around 43).

There's a great story in the Randine Lewis book about a woman who married at 41, went through NINE (9) Count them! IVF's and finally went to see Dr. Lewis, who prescribed dietary changes, herbs and acupuncture.
In 3 months (I think) she had IVF for the 10th time, got pregnant and delivered at 46... so, the odds are good!

I have a 48 years old friend who is going to deliver next month. She told me that it just happened. No treatments. Her husband is 39.

My RE laughed and said I was young and he had helped a 48 year old conceive, and give birth, using her own eggs a few months ago. He has another patient who is 45, and had 9 or more miscarriages and is now 38 weeks pregnant with her first baby.

I agree with continuing to try though, because my next door neighbour's mother had her youngest sister at 48! Naturally, of course. Back then...
I also have a friend that conceived late 45, delivered 46...
My RE has helped three woman, 45, 46, 47 have babies....
