I am 47 & just found out I'm pregnant

I am 47, and just found out that I am pregnant. I had my only child at 42. At 42 it went fine. Have you found any sites that have charts for our ages and risks factors? - Judy

I am now 47, and the mother of a beautiful five year old AND a two year old. Both my pregnancies were textbook. I still worry about looking like a grandmother, but I think there is more of us around than anyone thinks! Yes, it IS all in God's hands. I just spoke with my sister-in-law who is seven weeks pregnant and not wanting to be. I'm trying to decide if I want another one! - Mary

I too am over 40 and have just found out that I am pregnant again. What a shocker! But exciting as well. Was also a Labour & Delivery nurse ... and have heard all the negatives, but have seen a lot of positives on the Labour floor. The oldest being 50+ and delivered a beautiful healthy baby girl. I am almost 44 and have the most beautiful baby in the world. She is 10 months old, very healthy and gorgeous. My pregnancy went 100% and the birth went very good. Baby and I left the hospital after 4 hours of birth. I am so much calmer than with my other children. OLDER MUMS ARE THE BEST AND HAVE THE MOST BEAUTIFUL BABIES! - Melany

I had my first and only child thus far at 44 - a beautiful, perfect daughter. I am now 47 and would love to get pregnant again. I would stick with positive thoughts and consider the blessings. The Doctors do tend to cover their bases with the "potential risks". But, keep positive. - Deb
