My mom's friend, 50y, gave birth to twins

A good friend of my mom's, age just 50 years old, gave birth to twin boys a couple of weeks ago. Their sister is twenty-nine.

I know this probably won't help much; but my husband was born to his mom after 15 years of trying. His mom was 44 when she got pregnant with him. So I know, conclusively, of at least one success story (without IVF because they didn't even have it then) that took more than four years

Have 19 year old and 10 year old. Got married at 40 six years ago to husband (33) with none. After 1.5 years not getting pregnant, finally did and went through 2 miscarriages. At 43 third pregnancy was identical twins naturally. We were so excited when I reached 18 weeks and all looked good. Got infection from amnio and that was the end. Test came back they were 100% healthy. Went thru fertility for 10 months. Waste of eggs! Nothing.

We stopped trying because the emotional strain was too much for us both. A month after stopping treatments, got pregnancy naturally and miscarriage at 9 weeks. Got pregnant again not trying 5 months later and miscarriage at 7 weeks. On my 46 birthday tested positive for pregnancy! We were not happy...another devastating loss to go thru, we thought. Today is 8/19/06 and we're 16 weeks. I'm scared to be happy even though I want to be. Teresa

I was at a children's museum yesterday and there were twin girls playing next to us and the nanny told me that the couple had tried for 17 years to have a baby and they got pregnant at age 46 and that the pregnancy was natural. I was at the museum with a 43 year old friend who tried for 11 years before she had a baby and we were waiting for my 47 year old friend who had a baby at 45 after 4 years (I tried for 3!) Miracles are everywhere.
