I am 47 & found out I am pregnant

Well I must be the oldest 'mother to be' here - I am 47 years old and found out I was pregnant a few days ago - according to my dates, I’m approx 8.5 weeks pregnant.

Van Morrisson (the singer) and his partner had a baby girl 7 mpnths ago, they kept it quiet but the story is out now. She is 45 and he is 61, and yes it was her own eggs.

I had my last baby three months ago at 45 years old. He's happy, healthy and has brought so much happiness to our family, I can't begin to tell you. My other two children are 27 and 22 years old and our new baby is the love of their lives.

An added bonus is that the practice they're getting taking care of him will insure that they are good, experienced parents when their time comes. This baby was unplanned, but I like to call him "the icing on the cake".

He sent me to a high risk OB and when I met with him he told me that while I WAS older I was by no means too old. He told me about the 47 year old who had just given birth to a healthy girl that same week. She got pregnant naturally after trying for 2 years. He also told me that his wife had their first child at 37 and they were again trying to conceive and she is in her 40's.
