She had her youngest sister at 48

I agree with continuing to try though, because my next door neighbour's mother had her youngest sister at 48! Naturally of course back then... I also have a friend that conceived late 45, delivered 46...

However, my friend had one month of Clomid at 44 and was pregnant and had a boy with it and NO side effects at all on 3 times the dose.

On Thursday I also saw another Chinese herbalist/acupuncturist and he specializes in fertility and I said that I am scared of more miscarriages.

He laughed and said I was young and he had helped a 48 year old conceive and give birth using her own eggs a few months ago, and he has another patient who is 45 and had 9 or more miscarriages and is now 38 weeks pregnant with her first baby.

I have a grandmother that conceived her fifth child at 54 years old. Naturally.

I have a cousin in Montreal who is 44 and pregnant. My cousin did not want another child, nor did she try to conceive this one. Go figure.

About Catherine: I am mom to three grown sons, two grandchildren and two rescue dogs. After years of raising my boys as a single mom, I remarried a wonderful man who had never had a child of his own. Unexpectedly, I found myself pregnant at 49!
Sadly we lost our precious baby at 8 weeks, and decided to try again. Five more losses, turned down for donor egg, foster care and adoption due to my age and losses - we have accepted there will be no more babies in our house.
