Including 45 & 47y, both of whom had "surprise" pregnancies
I also wanted to add that I just went to a new OB-GYN this week who said that she has a ton of over 40 patients who are currently pregnant including a 45 year old and a 47 year old both of whom had "surprise" pregnancies. She said that the vast majority of over 40 women she has, are pregnant naturally.

My OB at my last annual visit asked me what I was using for birth control and I answered "old eggs" and she laughed and said "well I hope you won't mind if you get a surprise". I told her that I doubted that I would be blessed again [at 45 years old] and she just smiled.

I know of many other women who have gotten pregnant after 40 without intervention too! There was another lady on the board at the same time as me, that was 46 and delivered at 47!! Don't give up!

These stories reminded me that when I went to see my "regular" doc last year (for something not pregnancy related) I mentioned to her that I was TTC but that I was afraid I was "too old." She laughed and proceeded to tell me about two of her patients that were currently pregnant: one at 45 and one at 47.
The 45 year old's baby was a "honeymoon surprise" a first pregnancy just after a new marriage. The 47 year old's pregnancy was planned and she used charts, etc. When my doc called the high risk OB to refer this patient she was told by the high risk office that a 47 year old pregnant woman wasn't that unusual for them (and this is NOT a city with a large population!)

Bearing in mind I was a menopause baby, so my mother is now 86 and I am 41, so that would have made my mom 45 years old when I was born.
