During peri-menopause, a woman can still get pregnant
I am sure you've heard the term menopause baby.
Women in their 50s, who think they are no longer fertile, and skip using birth control, sometimes find out the hard way they are still more than capable of becoming pregnant.
While it is true your risk of becoming pregnant declines each year as you move towards menopause, there's always a chance you still can get pregnant.

As such, the term menopause baby
is a misnomer, since a woman who is truly in menopause has already lost her fertility.

My mother was a menopause baby.
My grandmother had her when she was 47 years old, and my grandfather was 50 years old, in 1931.
She had three other children aged 21, 19, and 10 years old.

I am 49 and definately going through peri-menopause, possibly over menopause, not sure based on what I am reading. I hadn't had my period in 11 months and than it came again, another 8 months went by and I had a month of "spotting", It has been 6 months since the spotting, hubby and I have been very, very close lately :) and I am feeling very tired and a bit nauseous in the morning. I have 5 children, 32 year old twins that I conceived when I was 16, a 14 and 12 year old and my youngest is 9 and has Autism. I am also a Grandma. I have called myself "Fertile Myrtle" in the past because I seemed to get pregnant with no problem.Could I be pregnant??
