A friend's aunt was 52 & conceived naturally

I have a friend whose aunt was 52, believed herself to be in menopause and conceived naturally. She had two adult children and then, a newborn -- again, perfectly healthy.

She regarded the pregnancy as a surprise, but a total blessing, and was overjoyed about it. So, never give up, and remember that anything is possible!

I told her that my Father had me at 48 and many of my Aunts had babies over 40 . My Father is alive and well and was a very hands on Dad growing up, I never noticed that he was an older Dad!

Don't let discouraging remarks from others get you down. My Doctor told me that she delivers many healthy babies to woman over 40 , she also had her two children in her forties!

Well, my mom had me when she was 40 and my grandmom had my aunt when she was 45. I come from a long line of women who conceive after 40! As a child of "older parents" (my dad was 47 when I was born), I can tell you that all I felt was LUCKY!!!

My parents were secure in their careers, finances and marriage so they could devote all their attention to all of us kids. Don't let anyone decide for you that you are too old. Your decision to have and to love your children is for you to decide!

I think choices are greatly influenced by ones culture and upbringing. I'm from a culture where 3 or 4 generations can live in one home and they do. My grandfather was 80 when he had his last child, his wife was 55. There was nothing such as DE [donor egg] or ART [assisted reproductive technologies].

That girl (my aunt) is now 25, she is my mother's sister and my mother now is 70. My aunt got married last weekend and the gathering was HUGE.

I also agree with all the ladies above...TCM [traditional chincese medicine] and accupuncture do work. My accupuncturist is living proof of it also...

She had tons of health problems and started using the herbs and accupuncture, and had her first baby at 45!!
