My sister-in-law is due at 46 with her 1st child
Just an note ladies, my sister-in-law (trying for 3 years) is due this week (age 46) IUI pregnancy (with Sperm donor) - first child. They removed the cerclage (she had a weak cervix) last week. He’s not letting her go to 40 weeks due to the baby's size.

And...........good friend (age 49) pregnant 12 weeks. Natural. She thought she was in menopause. All is good and tests show healthy baby. Third child, her last was 13 years ago. Different father. Her OB does not even have her as high risk, she's just going to see her a little more often. It CAN happen!

Pregnancies after the age of 50 years are rare. The oldest woman on record to have a successful pregnancy and birth in the world was aged 56 years in North America in 1956. The oldest woman in the UK was 54 years.

It is very rare to get pregnant after age 45 without using donor eggs or other assisted reproductive techniques. That said, we have all heard stories about women missing periods and thinking it was menopause, when actually they were pregnant.

In January, a 54-year-old mother of eight and grandmother of 15 gave birth to healthy triplets in Washington. She had a natural pregnancy.
