I am 46 and expecting. Like you I was shocked at first, I thought I was starting menopause!! Had stopped paying attention to when my periods came, so wasn't sure of when the little one would arrive.

My doctor told me about six years ago that the odds and factors, like my weight, would make it almost impossible - that depressed me even more. Now, with a new ob/gyn who was conceived herself when her mom was 44, is much more understanding. I think it's important to have a good relationship with your doctor - it can make all the difference.

I am 45 and due in June. I conceived the 3rd month coming off the pill. My OB said she just didn't think it happened past 42 or 43 without medical intervention. She was wrong ... don't give up!

First pregnancy at 46! I don't know how far along I am, since I stopped paying attention to my cycle many months ago. All that work 3 years ago with fertility testing, taking temp every morning, charting hormone levels just got to be too much with no result!
I finally bought a pregnancy test on Dec 21, and it took less than the time recommended to show a positive result! I didn't believe it, went the next day and bought 2 more tests. One was the kind that reads either “pregnant” or “not pregnant“.
That is the one I showed my husband. I knew he would not believe me otherwise!

I was 43 when I conceived, just 3 months after a miscarriage, and will be 44 when baby is due on 8/20/06. It was quite a surprise to us that I got pregnant, after so many years trying naturally.
