I think our chances are better than they seem on paper

I don't believe a lot of the statistics that are thrown around out there. We all know as we age, our chances are diminishing, but with all the knowledge about infertility problems, and all the ways we have to counter our shortcomings, I think our chances are better than they seem on paper.

Thought I would share that my husband's mother was in her late 40's when she conceived my husband. I do not know what age she was, but I do know that this was in the 1950's and she was not receiving any fertility treatment.

Interesting item on the news last night about birthrates and age groups. I was making dinner and watching the news when an item on birth rates came on. They talked about the number of women over 40 who were having babies and said that statistically there are MORE women over 40 having babies than women UNDER 20. Apparently this is a FIRST for this trend!!!

My grandma had 17 kids and she delivered healthy twins at 52 !! (no medical intervention either...)

THIS ONE AT 47:
Just to let you know I am now 18 weeks pregnant, I have lots of aches and pains but not surprising as I had a few back problems before I got pregnant, plus I am HUGE, next scan is 20 weeks on the 12th. Keep all fingers crossed for me, I need all the luck I can get at my age (47) This is my miracle baby, my last try, I am really trying my best to keep myself well and healthy, baby dust to all.
