A patient of my dentist had her last child at 54.
While at the dentist this week, I was talking with one of the dental assistants who told me about a patient of theirs who had her last child at the age of 54. She said it was a totally natural (and unexpected) conception.
This woman is now 90 years old, so it was definitely her OWN egg, since there was no such thing as IVF with donor eggs 36 years ago.

I know a 50 year old in my general area had a baby naturally, because the woman that is helping me learn Natural Family Planning, who is a nurse, said she had a client who conceived and gave birth to her 7th child naturally at age 50 (49 at conception) a few years ago. She charted her hormones and supplimnebted with natural progesterone. The baby was healthy and she was too, my nurse friend told me.

The older one is, the higher one's chance of having fraternal twins. The twinning rate is doubled for ages 35 to 40 and then decreases again, probably due to a decrease in fertility as one ages. The rate increases again for the age group 45 to 49 years. Older women are having multiples at an increasingly high rate. There were more twins born to women ages 45 to 49 in 1997 than during the entire decade of the 1980s.
