My OB/gyn told me her oldest delivery was a 50 year old
My OB/gyn told me just last week that her oldest delivery was a 50 year old woman who believed she was in menopause and went to the doctor at 6 months, complaining about how bad she felt. She was PREGNANT!

All of my family (and most friends) except one sibling, is very against any women over 35 having children. Their reasons are mostly shallow or ill thought, and they shut up when I remind them that both of my grandmothers were born to women over 42. One of my closest friends was born when her Mom was 49 (she is 49 now).

The nurse doing my ultrasound is 'very' pregnant. We were chatting as she did the ultrasound and I was saying playing (seriously though) about how I want to be just like her.
She said that this was a total surprise and never expected it at her age because she's old. I responded saying she isn't 'that' old - she said she is 45 and not an early 45 (oh crap, or was it 46) - she went on to say her first was an IVF baby, so with her now husband she never thought of using birth control because never thought it would happen.
She was concerned at first working in an infertility office, but she has discovered that she's been more of an inspiration than it being negative.
So, just some more confirmation showing that it can and does happen - and sometimes - doctors are wrong.

My maternal grandmother had her last child at 48.

I'm now 46 years old, and have three previous children, ages 20, 18 and 13. Hubby is 47. I'm pretty healthy, he's a bit overweight, so we tried for a couple of months. 5 weeks from now, hopefully, we will have a healthy baby girl.
