Friend had her 1st & only child when she was 48
I have a friend who had her first and only child when she was 48 and her husband was 50. Their beautiful, smart, well-adjusted son is now 14. He does well in school, plays baseball, is all-around nice and he is the light of their lives. You just never know.

My paternal grandmother gave birth to my father at 49. My maternal grandmother had one of my uncles at 48.

I had my baby with no help with conception from anyone but God (oh, and my husband) when I was nearly 44 -- three years after I was kicked out of the ARTs program as hopeless. Two weeks after trying to schedule a hysterectomy I found out I was pregnant. Read all about it here:

I just wanted to share an encouraging story.
One of my good friends is a post-partum & newborn nursery nurse, and she told me that last weekend she took care of a 49-year-old first time mother! This woman had undergone fertility treatments, but Kelly (my friend) wasn't exactly sure when or how extensive. They eventually threw in the towel, and had a surprise pregnancy and healthy baby at age 49 (her husband was 50)!!!
Kelly also said this was one of the calmest, most serene & relaxed first-time moms she's EVER seen. As soon as my friend told me the story, I knew I HAD to post it here...I wanted to share some encouraging news!!!

I am 47 years old, my partner is 45, and I am currently 7 months pregnant from natural conception, I will be almost 48 when baby is born. I have had at least 6 miscarriage starting from age 45 in the last 18 months, all early ones but this one has stuck. I am having a little boy, I hope this gives encouragement to those trying to conceive.
