Let's just say that I recently got a birth announcement from a 51-year-old friend of mine that said "Surprises Do Happen!" Similar thing happened to a family member who was nearing 50, thought she was into menopause, breathed a great sigh of relief, and then...
Didn't you ever hear the term "change of life baby"?

Yes, I give you hope! I am 44 and have a FSH of almost 16, RE [doctor] said I had a 1% chance! I read the Infertility Cure and Inconceivable and did EVERYTHING they said to do. I did acupuncture with moxibustion 1 time/ week and just found that I am pregnant! Don’t give up yet. What kept me going was reading stories about others who had higher FSH than ours get pg! I wish you the best! Helene

Dr. Auyeung is definitely an 'over 40' friendly doctor. He is a reproductive endocrinologist, OB/GYN and also has a degree in pharmacology. He is very supportive and will go the distance to help you achieve a pregnancy. I started seeing him at 44 and got pregnant at 46.

So anybody here have encouraging stories about getting pregnant at 46? I'm thrilled and scared to death all at the same time. *hyperventilating* HA! And I thought the missing periods meant menopause!

About Catherine: I am mom to three grown sons, two grandchildren and two rescue dogs. After years of raising my boys as a single mom, I remarried a wonderful man who had never had a child of his own. Unexpectedly, I found myself pregnant at 49!
Sadly we lost our precious baby at 8 weeks, and decided to try again. Five more losses, turned down for donor egg, foster care and adoption due to my age and losses - we have accepted there will be no more babies in our house.
