[My doctor] said she had a patient who had never gotten pregnant and she and her hubby had tried for about 10 years and finally gave up (they didn't try IVF or other 'help') and in about the 15th year when she was 44/45 they got pregnant and carried full term.

Hope these stories of my friends will encourage you ladies as they have encouraged me.
"Greta" [44y] had her first child in August 2004, a healthy boy. They did IVF with her own eggs. They have more embies frozen that they plan to do another IVF with.

"Anne" [44y] had her second over-40 baby in November 2004, both beautiful healthy girls. I'm sure she would have said if she did any fertility treatments, so I assume these were both natural pregnancies.

"Cindy" [44y] has an 11-year-old son and a 6-year-old daughter, miscarried in 2001, continued to hope for another child, but wanted to leave it up to nature. By this summer she figured they were out of luck, and started selling her old baby stuff on Ebay. As soon as she'd made her first sale, she found out she was pregnant, due in April. Everything is going fine (other than her being really tired).

I had my second ICSI/PGD cycle this year at the Lister in London in October and to my utter amazement got a BFP. They detected a heartbeat at six weeks and I'll be ten weeks tomorrow (Thurs). [age 44/high FSH]

About Catherine: I am mom to three grown sons, two grandchildren and two rescue dogs. After years of raising my boys as a single mom, I remarried a wonderful man who had never had a child of his own. Unexpectedly, I found myself pregnant at 49!
Sadly we lost our precious baby at 8 weeks, and decided to try again. Five more losses, turned down for donor egg, foster care and adoption due to my age and losses - we have accepted there will be no more babies in our house.
