July 18, 2006 -- Bridget Jones's Diary author Helen Fielding has had a baby girl, PEOPLE has learned.

The baby was born on Sunday and weighed in at 6 pounds, 3 ounces.

She's gorgeous but yet-to-be-named, Fielding's rep, Catherine Olim, said in a statement.

Mother and daughter are both doing fine and everyone is delighted.

This is the second child for the 48-year-old British writer and her longtime partner, Kevin Curran, 49, an executive producer and writer on The Simpsons.

The Los Angeles-based couple already has a 2-year-old son, Dashiell.

About Catherine: I am mom to three grown sons, two grandchildren and two rescue dogs. After years of raising my boys as a single mom, I remarried a wonderful man who had never had a child of his own. Unexpectedly, I found myself pregnant at 49!
