I turned 46 two weeks ago, and am 13 weeks pregnant. I'm a divorced mom with sole custody of my three girls from my marriage....ages 9, 15 and 18. This pregnancy came as a huge shock to me.

I am 44 years old. My son was born last August. He has Downs Syndrome. I think I love him more than any of my other kids and that is really hard to believe but he is a joy to wake up to each
morning and I love to cuddle with him when he goes to sleep at night.

My cousin's wife had a baby at 43. A friend of mine said a co-worker had one at 45 or maybe it was 47 . . . anyway, it's uncommon yet not uncommon.

A 52 year old woman who works at the Albertson's where I shop just had a baby . . . all the check-out staff were talking about it.

I'm close to stopping it all and just doing it naturally. Besides, my mom had a child at 45 and she didn't do anything special that I know of to get pregnant.

About Catherine: I am mom to three grown sons, two grandchildren and two rescue dogs. After years of raising my boys as a single mom, I remarried a wonderful man who had never had a child of his own. Unexpectedly, I found myself pregnant at 49!
Sadly we lost our precious baby at 8 weeks, and decided to try again. Five more losses, turned down for donor egg, foster care and adoption due to my age and losses - we have accepted there will be no more babies in our house.
