Pregnant at age 44 with second child
When Leslie Ann Ostyn of Grant, Michigan, USA told her husband that she was pregnant at age 44 with the second child they had awaited for 18 years, his first statement was, "We are not going to have any friends!" In fact, Leslie Ann finds in her interactions with young mothers, "I am frequently called on to give the 'grandmother' perspective. I know I am helpful but it doesn't fulfill me and makes me feel pressured to be perfect."

Then miraculously I missed my next period (without using Clomid) and am now in my 6th week, scheduled to have my 1st sono next Tues. For those of you who've ridden this roller coaster, I am so excited, but also afraid to allow myself to become attached to the thought of having another baby. I am aware that at my age (now 45) the chances of suffering another miscarriage are great, notwithstanding the absence of such symptoms. However, I try to convince myself that since I've already had two, I should beat the odds now.

I am 12 1/2 weeks pregnant on a IVF. I am 44 and did a joint cycle where they put all (4) of my eggs and 2 of a donors in at transfer. I am nervous every appointment, hoping nothing will go wrong. It is really hard to believe at this point. This is #1 for [my husband] and I.
